Brad graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1971 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1974.  He began clerking for the Bellamy Law Firm the summer before beginning law school and continued clerking with the law firm during law school.  Upon graduating in 1974, Brad began working with the Bellamy Law Firm in its real estate and appellate practice areas.  Brad is a shareholder in the law firm and serves on its Executive Board and as Corporate Secretary.  He is a member of the Horry County Bar Association and the South Carolina Bar Association.

Brad is one of the top Myrtle Beach real estate lawyers and brings over forty years of real estate experience to the Bellamy Law Firm.  His practice includes the handling of both residential and commercial transactions. A large portion of Brad’s practice is devoted to representing real estate developers and builders in the acquisition and development of residential and commercial condominium projects, residential real estate subdivisions and communities and structuring associations to manage these projects. His experience begins with helping the developer with the initial due diligence of the project including zoning, title examinations, working with project engineers to obtain all necessary permits, declaration of restrictions for the project and incorporating the necessary association.

Brad has extensive experience in handling all types of commercial transactions including the acquisition or sale of apartment complexes, shopping centers and national stores such as Dollar General, Advance Auto Parts stores and chain grocery stores, drug stores and restaurants. Many of these type transactions require the closing of a non-recourse securitized loan transaction with a major lender or insurance company.

Brad also represents local and national lenders in the preparation of loan and financial documents, including review of title insurance policies for lending transactions. Through Coastal Title Services, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Bellamy Law Firm in which Brad is the president and manager, he acts as a licensed title insurance agent for Chicago Title Insurance Company, First American Title Company and Stewart Title Insurance Company.

Brad supervises and closes several hundred residential closings every year. Residential closing services include purchases, sales, loan transactions, refinances, leases and contract preparation. As a full service Firm, he timely handles the title search and review of the title abstract, clearing objections to clean title, co-ordinates with lender the loan closing, the issuance of the loan policy of title for the lender and the owner’s policy for the purchaser. Brad personally meets with the purchaser or seller to explain all documents required for closing.
