Biography
Doug is a shareholder in the firm’s litigation department. Doug’s practice focuses on commercial landlord/tenant disputes, foreclosures and collections, and general civil business litigation matters. Doug has also appeared before the South Carolina Court of Appeals, South Carolina Supreme Court, and the United States Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals in 21 appellate cases.
Doug is a native of Johnstown, New York and graduated from the State University of New York College at Potsdam with a Bachelor of Arts in 1987.
In 1996, Doug graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he was the Associate Editor-in-Chief of the South Carolina Environmental Law Journal. Following graduation, Doug became the first law clerk of the Honorable John Breeden, who had just been elected to the Circuit Court in Horry County.
Following his clerkship, Doug joined the firm as an associate in 1997.
