Howell V. “Skeets” Bellamy, Jr. is the founder of the Bellamy Law Firm and has been practicing law in Myrtle Beach since 1962. After graduating from Davidson College in 1959, Mr. Bellamy attended the University of South Carolina School of Law and received his Juris Doctor degree in 1962.

As one of the top lawyers in Myrtle Beach, Mr. Bellamy has represented many private property owners who have faced condemnation of their property by the South Carolina Department of Transportation resulting from the expansion or construction of Horry County area roads. Mr. Bellamy practices civil litigation and has represented clients in cases dealing with property rights, banking and commerce, wetlands and environmental concerns, trademark infringement, and many other fields of law. Mr. Bellamy is a member of the Horry County and South Carolina Bar Associations.

Mr. Bellamy was named in The American Lawyer’s 2009 Best Lawyers® Annual Guide to Eminent Domain and Condemnation Law as one of the three most proficient lawyers practicing in the State of South Carolina.  He has also been included in the 2010 edition of The Best Lawyers in America® in the specialty of Eminent Domain and Condemnation Law.

Mr. Bellamy is a past-President of the Horry County Bar Association, is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and has been a longtime participant of the Fourth Circuit Judicial Conference. Mr. Bellamy currently serves on the Board of Directors of Carolina Financial Corporation and is a member of the board of the Chapin Company.

Mr. Bellamy resides in Pawleys Island. When not practicing law he enjoys traveling the world fly fishing, hunting, and playing golf.
