Condemnation and Eminent Domain

Condemnation and Eminent Domain are terms used to describe the government's right to take private property without the permission of the landowner. The government has the right to take the property as long as it is doing so for a public purpose, such as building a highway, and as long as the government pays the property owner just compensation.

The most common dispute in these cases is the payment of just compensation. Often, the government and the property owner disagree as to the amount of compensation the government must pay the property owner. Our team has handled hundreds of these cases and our goal is to work with appraisers and engineers on behalf of the landowner in order to identify as many elements of damage to the property as we can and, thus, maximize the financial recovery to the property owner while protecting the property owner's rights throughout the process.

We do not charge a fee to property owners for initial consultations in condemnation matters, so feel free to call and set an appointment today.
