Phillip Albergotti

Phillip practices in the areas of taxation, mergers & acquisitions, corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, estate planning, probate administration, banking, tax controversy, real estate planning, state and local taxation, and business incentives. He received a Master of Laws in Taxation and has since been named a Certified Specialist in Taxation Law, a distinction awarded by the Supreme Court of South Carolina. By combining his understanding of the law and tax expertise with his ability to provide considerate, personalized counsel, Phillip is a uniquely qualified attorney who provides his clients counsel in the complex areas of the law in which he practices.

In his practice, Phillip represents various entities on such diverse matters as the purchase and sale of businesses, shareholder agreements, operating agreements, shareholder buyouts, executive compensation arrangements, and business succession planning. He works with individual clients on income and estate planning matters in the formulation and implementation of strategies to protect and preserve assets, minimize estate and gift taxes, and provide for an effective plan of transferring assets from one generation to the next using wills, trusts, and family entities. 

He advises personal representatives, trustees and beneficiaries on all phases of the estate probate and trust administration process, including tax audits. Phillip also advises real estate developers and investors in such matters as the formation of real estate ventures and on the tax planning aspects of the purchase, sale, and exchange of commercial and investment property and available tax incentives. 

Phillip and his wife, Craigen, live in Murrells Inlet with their two children. Phillip enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, boating, cooking, and traveling. Phillip and his family attend Belin United Methodist Church in Murrells Inlet.
