Re: 2010 Community Law Week

May 3-7 marks the annual Community Law Week across the country and in South Carolina. During this week, the South Carolina Bar Association is hosting various events across the state to inform South Carolinians about the legal system, the legal profession, and their legal rights. Locally, the South Carolina Bar Young Lawyers Division is hosting a series of discussions at local area high schools to inform students about South Carolina’s legal system, the practice of law, and available legal careers. Ben Baroody, a lawyer with the Bellamy Law Firm in Myrtle Beach, is the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit Representative to the South Carolina Bar’s Young Lawyer Division, which consists of Horry and Georgetown Counties. He, together with other young lawyers in the area, have planned speaking engagements at eleven local high schools during Law Week to encourage students to consider a career as a lawyer, or in a related profession, and to explain how one can obtain such a career.
